I just received a copy of my friend Jack Duncan’s “Definitive Guide For Finding High Pagerank Forum Backlinks” and it’s a great read.
It’s a short pdf document, only 35 pages long, and inside is some really great information on how to go about getting a ton of high quality backlinks to your site.
The best part though, is the tools that Jack talks about. I can’t tell you what they are here, I promised not to tell his secret, but he did give me a special link to share with you guys that’ll get you the report and access to all of the tools for only $9
The system focuses on getting links from high traffic forums, but it’s not the same old way we’re used to doing it. If you know Jack Duncan, you know he’s way ahead of the curve when it comes to linking strategies.
There’s also a special forum finding tool that you need a password to use that’s included for free on page 18 of the guide. It’s what makes this strategy so easy to implement, and yes, all the tools are free!
I highly recommend you grab this guide now and start using it to get some really high quality backlinks to your site today. It’s a super easy yet super powerful method.
Here’s the link I promised you:

I’ve been riding my programmers pretty hard the last few weeks trying to get the updates and upgrades for NextGenlinks.com finished and implemented.
The truth is, I don’t see the apps I design from a programmers point of view. Being an internet marketer and SEO guy, I see them as a user of the product, so I just hand a bunch of benefits and features over to the programmers and say “Build This :)”
Well, one of my programmers suggested I “Get Real” ~ and I’m glad he did!
He sent me a link to an online book that he rereads at least once a month to keep him on track and focused when coding and designing software.
It’s a very easy read and focused on keeping your projects simple and getting them done.
But to my surprise, it wasn’t only about software coding, it’s about the whole enchilada, from brainstorming to sketching, coding, pre-launch buzz, launching and finally tweaking the app!
I highly recommend that anyone interested in launching an online app or business give this a quick read, it’s online, free and very easy to read.
Here’s the link:
http://gettingreal.37signals.com/toc.php
Here’s an excerpt from the book:
*************************************
What is Getting Real?
Want to build a successful web app? Then it’s time to Get Real. Getting Real is a smaller, faster, better way to build software.
- Getting Real is about skipping all the stuff that represents real (charts, graphs, boxes, arrows, schematics, wireframes, etc.) and actually building the real thing.
- Getting real is less. Less mass, less software, less features, less paperwork, less of everything that’s not essential (and most of what you think is essential actually isn’t).
- Getting Real is staying small and being agile.
- Getting Real starts with the interface, the real screens that people are going to use. It begins with what the customer actually experiences and builds backwards from there. This lets you get the interface right before you get the software wrong.
- Getting Real is about iterations and lowering the cost of change. Getting Real is all about launching, tweaking, and constantly improving which makes it a perfect approach for web-based software.
- Getting Real delivers just what customers need and eliminates anything they don’t.
*************************************
I hope you enjoy it and find it useful :)
If you do, be sure to come back and tweet about it to get the word out!

How many more pieces of content can be published online regarding link building? Well, the answer to that is the same as how many links do you want to build? Link building is all about content, words and information. Without the best content, written in easily readable words providing expert information, the link building efforts will be useless. Useless, you ask? Yes, useless. You see, the links are added to content online for more than page rank building efforts and SEO. They are added as a resource for more information that invites the reader to LEARN MORE, not increase YOUR traffic.
Because of the growing need for surface and deep website links, many Internet marketers forget that these links are being read by more than just search engine bots with algorithms on the mind. The links are to be read by REAL people who want REAL information on the other side of that link. Smacking a link here and there with anchor text does not make for good search engine marketing which is why many Internet marketers are getting closer to their audience with social networking.
Social Networking and Getting to Know Your Reader
A personal relationship between a business and the reader is VERY important to the success of that business. Social networks are the perfect platform to make that happen. Sure, a link can be added to the profile and to the posts on the social networking page, but it is about more than that. Social networking brings life back to the reader who should replace the bots when it comes to importance in link building.
Combining Business and Pleasure
Social networks allow a business to learn more about their customers and target audiences. When starting a social networking page, search for “friends” with interests that could relate to your niche. These are the perfect people to add as their friend lists will have access to your information which could mean a limitless source of potential future consumers.
Once the friend list starts taking shape, give the consumer what they are looking for, expert information in your field. This information needs to be offered without links, at first. Then, as trust is built and the friend list grows, offer them a direct link back to your website. These links are VERY important. The information on the other side needs to be GREAT information that does not push the reader too strong to buy your products or services.
If the link leads to too strong a push, the reader will lose interest in the website and eventually may drop you as a friend on the social network. This is the opposite of what you want to happen. What you really want is the reader to click your link and read the information then pass that link or information on to other friends on social networks.
Which Social Network is the Best?
There is no one social network that is better than another. Each social network will have a different set of potential customers that could be gained by the exposure on the website. The idea is to establish a common name, theme and equally relevant information on all major social networks as well as some smaller, niche style social networks.

Do you ever wonder what it takes to earn a link back from a major online media publication?
These publications have link juice to give, but they have to be structured about linking out to other websites. The only exception to that rule are online news media publications.
If these websites are reporting the news, why would they NOT link to the original source of the story? Some of us online thought that was how is was SUPPOSED to be done.
About a year and a half ago, an interesting article was posted online comparing the inbound and outbound links, earned and given respectively, by several of the most world renowned online news media companies. Included on the list were CNN.com, BBC and The New York Times. The information may have changed a bit, but the education is still very relevant.
The number one news media company on the list was BBC. BBC had earned nearly 30 million inbound links and served 1.7 million outbound links. The site chose to use links in both main news stories and blog posts.
Number two on the list was CNN.com. CNN had earned nearly 20 million inbound links and dished out about 970,000. CNN included links in their blog posts but not their main news stories.
Falling into third place was the New York Times. The Times had earned about 25 million inbound links and given out nearly 2 million. The Times included links in both main news stories and blogs.
Taking a Look at the Numbers
Breaking down this information by the numbers (BBC) 30000000/1700000, (CNN) 20000000/970000, (NYT) 25000000/2000000. At first these numbers may seem a bit overwhelming, but breaking them down even further will help you better understand the power of the outbound link.
If we take the numbers down to their lowest possible value, the hugeness is a bit easier to digest. (BBC) 3000/170, (CNN) 2000/97 and (NYT) 2500/200. Now what do these numbers mean, really?
Well, BBC and NYT both include OUTBOUND links in their main publications and blog posts while CNN only includes their OUTBOUND links in blog posts. CNN shares the least amount of link juice and, in turn, is receiving the least number of inbound links. You see, SEO experts believe the popularity of inbound links can be directly related to how many outbound links a website is willing to give.
The Debate Begins
Of course, with any study on SEO tactics, there is bound to be some talk about the real effects of outbound links. Todd Malicoat, Seth Besmertnik, Debra Mastaler and Rand Fishkin all believe in the power of outbound links - debate killed!
Applying the Outbound Link Theory to YOUR Website
Now, you may not own a website with the power and clout as these news media icons, but that does not mean outbound linking cannot help build the power you have.
Outbound links need to be very relevant placed on a page that is similar to the page you are linking to. Link automation may be the best choice for building these types of links, naturally. And, natural is the key to a successful SEO campaign.

No, there are no hidden factories with thousands of computers and people working round the clock to build deep links to your website behind link automation software.
But, there are thousands of websites with content relevant to your website niche just waiting to share links with your readers.
Why links? Links help a website earn trust from the search engines. Any new webmaster can throw content on a website and push that content onto the Internet. With a few carefully written article marketing submissions and there could be a small traffic flow to the website and some income.
But, building a web presence is about more than that. It is about providing great content to the reader - all the time. And, if that great content is not found on your website, linking to the website where that content can be found. Insert, automated link building.
Software That Builds Your Brand Name - Slowly
How long have you been working to increase the page rank of your website? One year, two years, more? The process of building a brand name that is trusted with the search engine bots is a difficult task.
There are so many websites and so much content being pushed onto the Internet, that the search engine bots have to be stingy when choosing the top 10 spots.
The most popular bots take many factors into consideration including inbound links, keyword density and outbound links. To make matters even more complicated, the push for more and more content means more and more pages that require inbound links. The process is never ending.
Automated link building works with your website content to create inbound and outbound links to improve overall page rank. The outbound links will only be connected to websites that are relevant to your niche.
That means your landscaping website will not be linked to a beauty website. Outbound and inbound links created with incorrect anchor text and irrelevant website links are more or less ignored, valuewise by search engine bots, so this tactic is not used with link building software.
In addition to the relevant inbound links, there is the exchange of sorts with other websites. You see, that inbound link is coming from somewhere and that means a website or blog is offering your anchor text space on their website. This increases the validity of their website in the SE’s eyes.
Outbound links are GOOD!
These links show the reader that you are confident in the material you are providing. If the reader needs more information, they have the resources there to click on and read more.
But, according to research, by having outgoing links on your pages and pleasing the SE’s, you’ll gain much more new traffic to your site than the percentage that will ever click on those links.
Creating a successful website with profitable traffic is about more than keeping the reader happy. It is also about keeping the search engine bots happy and they love outbound links. As a matter of fact, it is a requirement.

It’s amazing what we as humans can accomplish if we put our minds to it.
But it’s equally amazing how easily we can sabotage our efforts with a simple belief…
Depending on how you look at things, including yourself, determines what you believe you are capable of achieving, and that is directly proportionate to what you actually achieve in reality!
I heard a story once at a seminar that was funny but at the same time really sheds some light on how perspective and beliefs can really change what you are capable of doing.
It’s been a while so I may change it a little bit… But the story goes something like this…
There once was a young duckling lost in the middle of a dark and scary forest. The duck was wandering around trying to find his way out of the forest, when a ferocious leopard spots him.
The leopard starts stalking the duckling thinking to himself, “I’ve never seen a creature like this before, but he sure looks tender and juicy…”
The duckling realizes he’s being stalked and is terrified, he has to find a way out of this predicament!
Over near a tree he spots a pile of bones leftover from someone else’s meal, so he goes over to the pile and waits for the leopard to approach.
As the leopard gets close enough to pounce, the little duckling rubs his belly and says ” Mmmm that was a delicious leopard, I wish I could find another one to eat, I’m still hungry!”
As soon as the leopard hears that, he starts to run away, not knowing what this creature was capable of.
In a nearby tree, a monkey was watching the entire scene, he’s furious at how the duckling tricked the leopard so he goes running to the leopard and proposes a deal: ” Hey leopard, says the monkey, I’m in need of some protection, so how about you protect me and I’ll give you some valuable information?”
The leopard agrees and the monkey tells him what he has seen. The leopard is furious and tells the monkey to get on his back, they’re going to catch them a duckling!
As the leopard approaches for the second time, the duckling is again terrified and finds himself in the same situation as before, how is he going to get out of this one…
Once again as the leopard is in pouncing range, the duckling says angrily ” where is that darn monkey? I sent him out to get me another leopard over an hour ago!”
So that evening the leopard had monkey for dinner…
So, could the leopard have easily eaten the duckling, Sure!
But because he was unsure of himself and the words of the duckling changed his perspective, he no longer believed he could.
The moral is: Believe in yourself, maintain your perspective, and don’t listen to what other people say about you!
I hope you liked the story! Feel free to pass it along and tweet it.

It’s always fun to hear someone else tell you about what you need, isn’t it? Well, unfortunately, to be the most successful online entrepreneur and marketer you can be, that’s a skill you’ll have to develop too. If you want people to visit your site over the billions of others out there, you have to have something that convinces people they need you, your product or service, and your website. So, how do you do that?
Well, for one thing, you need to actually have something worth offering. If you haven’t done so yet, come up with a long-term plan and a mission statement for your website. Whether you plan concrete steps or just draft a general outline, knowing why you have your website and what you’re going to use it for is a crucial first step toward maximizing its potential. After all, why have a site if you aren’t going to use it to the utmost that you can?
Once you’ve decided why you have your website, then you have to cater to the demographic that is most likely to come visit your site. You have to make it professional and clean if you are catering to professionals, while you might use some crude language and more questionable content if you are trying to attract male teenagers and young adults.
Believe it or not, this is one of the most important things to do, even before you start worrying about optimization. Remember that all of these steps are only important if you get the right kind of people at your site. If you’re selling posters of heavy metal bands and you somehow are attracting middle-aged women in knitting circles, you have a disconnect that you need to address.
Looking for Quality
Once you straighten out your demographic, then you start realizing that you need quality backlinks. This isn’t a joke, either. Backlinks are a critical aspect of a successful website because they give you the kind of targeted traffic you desire.
Think about where those backlinks come from. That’s right - they come from sites that have a stake in what you are doing. Say you do a personal blog, and you wrote a post about capital punishment. You’ll probably get a lot of political blogs linking to your site (if you’re popular enough), and they’ll say how they’re for or against it–but what you’re worried about is getting the right kind of people there in decent numbers.
Finally, you have to remember that growth is painfully slow for any new venture, unless you have already proven yourself and have a built-in fan base ready to try anything you do. Using a link building service will give the initial push you need to get the link building moving, once you have established links other websites will want to link to you as well.
One Link After Another
The point is that it will do the linking for you, and eventually, more links will start coming in because they see the links that are already there. If you don’t believe that an icebreaker is important, try cracking a joke in the middle of an awkward crowd and see how that goes.
Building quality backlinks will encourage more links, which creates more direct traffic and indirectly improves your ranking in the search engine results pages while at the same time giving your site an aura of authority. That’s a wining combination that starts with content and links.

Sometimes the novice webmaster needs a step by step guide to the basics of SEO. The beast known as search engine optimization may be too much for a beginner to understand in the first days and months of building and promotion. This checklist includes everything the beginner needs to know about SEO for their new website.
* Start a website built on value. The visitor wants to buy your product or service but you have to convince them why they NEED it with great product information.
* Use keywords early. The primary keyword (s) for a website should be used within the first 25 words of every article. The remaining instances need to be spread out with one in the closing paragraph.
* Use only targeted keywords. The keywords you use will be indexed by search engines. The search engines are where the majority of your traffic will originate. The reader wants to find content, products and services that embody that keyword.
* Simple website designs are the best. The reader does not want to be overcome with angst when they hit your front page. Too much movement and clutter can have the same effect as rush hour traffic. Simple is better.
* Build your website with quality depth. The more content on your website about your product or service the better. With each new page, make sure to bookmark and submit that page specific URL to search engines and directories.
* Check out your competitors. Doing a search for your keyword and checking out each of the websites ranked about you on the search engine rankings page is essential to success. These websites are doing something better than you, so find out what it is. How old is their website? How many backlinks do they have? What is their keyword density per article? These facts can all help you build your site.
* Site analytics are the key to understanding your visitor. Website analytics break down the incoming traffic stats for every website. These stats can include the keyword used to visit the website, the country of origin and whether the hit was earned from a search engine or link. The most effective marketing campaigns will be built on these results.
* Give the visitor something for saying HELLO. Once the visitor hits your home page, what reason do they have to return? Free e-books, newsletters and coupons are all a great way to keep a visitor coming back for more.
* Expertise is crucial. Anyone can rewrite content on the Internet, but an expert can give that information a formal push. The more you know about your niche, the more the content will feel like it is coming from an expert. Give the reader something new and exciting to read and they will subscribe to your feed and come back for more.
* Integrate social networking tools. Social networking is the best way to get out the word about your website. With a SHARE type tool, the visitor can click one button and share your website with everyone on their friend list. This could mean more traffic and more money in your pocket.
Building a website right the first time will reduce the amount of time spent fixing build and marketing mistakes. This checklist is very simple and by no way includes all of the things you need to do to run an effective online business. But, following these tips will get your site off to the right start every time.
